One day Ellen told William that she is going to attend a face to face interview at Southern Airline tomorrow, Willam said to Ellen "Cross your fingers, hope the best, then you will win", Cross fingers here is one of religionary gesture which hope for the good luck, especially something important to someone. my boss always tell me "cross your fingers, hope the best and prepare for the worst" when I am in trouble or have a important decision to make.
So, let's cross our fingers and pray for the people who are effected by the flood and mud-rock flow in Gansu Zhouqu, and Sichuan Wenchuan. God bless you!
