Yesterday, I went to Suzhou for a business trip, I hit the road at early morning, "hit the road" means to travel or leave for someplace. it was a such wonderful day, the sun was delicious, air was so fresh, The hills are covered with wild flowers, I was so enjoyed driving along the highway and almost missed the phone call from my wife, but she seems very upset, because stock market hit the bottom, we had big loss. "hit bottom" means something goes to the lowest point, can not go lower, If the price of shares of a stock hits bottom that might be the time to buy it. Its value can only go up, so, what we can do is to wait.

    We had good meeting with our supplier at later morning, at noon, lunch is really good with seafood, it hit the spot, that means food or drink is especially satisfying, on the way back, one of my friend told me she was failed at one of examination, and her father "hit the ceiling", that means her father is very angry with her, she have no choice, but "hit the book", that means it is the time for her to study.
