Chapter 2. Q & A - Make Yourself Unforgettable!
接下来这个部分,结合OD那天我们可能会被问到的几个常见问题来进行简单分析。一般来说,OD部分和FINAL前期“Warming Up”的问题类似All these questions are all about you and this is your moment to 100% SELL YOURSELF! 面试官的所有问题我们可以简单的归结为三大类:More about Yourself (进一步的自我介绍)、Motivation for Applying (申请动机) 和 Past Experience & Current Situation (经验和现状)。按照这个线索进行问题的准备,会大大提高各位的效率:
2.1 Tell me more about Yourself. 这类问题比较简单,通常作为面试的第一个问题,它的作用相当于“An Ice Breaker”为了缓解考生情绪和进行一个简短“Warming Up”,因此回答内容不要太多太细,时间控制在1-2分钟。具体回答类似于Chapter 1.阿联酋航空自我介绍,如果是面试是其它航空,我们的自我介绍基本可以按照以下三步进行回答:
Step 1. Who I am. 包括:Name(姓名)、Age(年龄)和Current Position(现状介绍)。e.g. “My name is +简历名,and you can also call me +英文名. I am +年龄 years old. Right now I am working/studying in +公司/学校的名字 as an /a +具体职务/在校学历.”
Step 2. What I have Achieved. 包括:Your Career (工作经验)或者 Your Internship Experience (实习经历)。在这个部分,请注意不是背诵简历!请务必最短的时间内Highlighting Your Customer Service Experience!(体现你曾经的客户服务相关的工作经验)。 e.g. 1 现在的工作:“As you can see from my resume(这个单词是法语单词,很多人读错,查准音标!). I currently work as a/an +工作职务 at/in +工作地点或公司名称,and I have worked in client-facing roles for the past +服务行业工作年数 years. So I have comparative good command of +目前工作中获得的关于客户服务的实用技能:如 customer care and teamwork skills/ people skills/organization skills/problem-solving skills/verbal skills…. e.g. 2 过去的实习经历和工作:“In the year of +具体参加实习/工作的年份, I have been employed for +工作时间长度 months/years with a company called +公司名称 in the role of an intern/trainee/工作职责,where I have gained more valuable experience.Such as +自己工作经历的故事:业绩、有趣故事、有挑战性的事件或者学到的内容。”
Step 3. Why I am Here. 包括:What you are looking forward to in the future / Why the career change?最后一个部分可以很顺畅的结合之前提及的工作实习经验,转到为什么来参加面试: e.g. According to my previous working experiences, I have realized that/Working as a cabin crew offers me the opportunity to +参加面试的理由/成为空乘的理由/职业转变 的原因。 例如: • 我意识到自己对客户服务领域的工作有着极高热情(I have a passion to work in the customer service industry…); •这份工作能够给我为客户提供优质服务的机会(This job will gives me the opportunity to provide excellent service…); • 我喜欢在团队中发光发热…(Enjoy working within a team…); • 可以每天接触各种各样的乘客和一个充满活力与热情的工作氛围(Meet and help new passengers everyday. An enthusiastic, exuberant environment to work in…); • 我喜欢每天充满着不同的生活方式,不断变化的环境,充满着趣味性和挑战 (Enjoy a lifestyle with a difference. Ever changing environment, never boring, always challenging…); • 我超爱旅行!让人兴奋的目的地和体验不同文化的经历让我着迷(Love to travel !Exciting destinations, experience different cultures!(这个理由绝对只能是你答案的一小部分,不能成为主要原因!);

2.2 About Motivation for Applying 这类典型问题包括: - Why do you want to become cabin crew? - What do you know about our airline? - Why do you want to work for our airline? - Why should we hire you? -……
第二大类可以说是第一类题型回答中最后一部分的延伸。最推荐也最好展开的回答方式为“A personal story + A demonstration of your knowledge and fit for the job/airline”, 这类问题一直是各大航空不变的必备考题,务必好好准备!
Step 1. Personal Story 这个部分可以涉及到你过去任何跟该公司或者该工作有关的信息,比如 (以下举例很实用,不要错过!):小时候的各种、工作经历、楼上空姐、一次坐飞机经历、奇葩偶遇、公司制服、公司代言人、公司的某次赞助、无意中看见的网络上的公司宣传视频、公司文化、公司制度、公司目标、公司飞行目的地…都可以成为你选择这份工作或者这家公司的理由。但是,请注意在描述时候加入尽量多的细节(具体的年份、人名、城市、地点、事件细节),会显得你的故事更加真实。其实,任何理由不分高低贵贱,考官并不在乎,重点在于你在阐述故事时的整体感觉:Be Sincere!Be Passionate! Be Positive!
例如: • 童年的梦想:As a child, I was fascinated by aircraft and always felt a buzz of excitement when planes flew overhead. This is where my passion for flying initially began. • 坐飞机被感动: My first passenger experience with +航空公司名字 was +多少年 years ago,on a flight from +出发地 to +目的地。The service on board was so immaculate and welcoming, that I was instantly impressed. Following this experience I became a frequent flyer and when I decided to apply for this position, I was no doubt who I want to work for!… • 文化和价值观的契合: …So, I started to research +航空公司名字 further. You know, I was so please(注意语气的加重和真诚) to discover that your airline’s corporate culture holds true with my own values and beliefs!Specifically the +公司政策 and +公司文化. • 任何关于航空公司现状的细节描述: ...+This discovery reinforced my desire further and confirmed my belief that I will indeed join your existing team!!!! • 强大的航空公司: As one of the largest and popular airlines in the world. The +公司名称 Airlines now serves +目的地数量 destinations in+覆盖国家数量 countries worldwide and is rapidly expanding its route network, which is soon to include +即将开通的目的地。 • ……
Step 2. A demonstration 在自己的故事说完以后,一定要有一到两句话把公司的某个“Poin”跟你自己结合起来,简单来讲就是要有个总结和表示决心的Ending!
• ……That is why I believe +公司名字 has the right culture fit for me! • I feel now is an ideal time to move on and start my career in an area that I can challenge myself along with enjoying the job and lifestyle. • Now, I am confident that +the …and …skills 具体技能 I have developed/cultivated throughout/from my past experience/career, will enable me to deliver the high standard of service that passengers/customers expect from your Airlines. • In all, this job/working as a cabin crew is tailored to my personality, skills and experience and is the one I feel committed to. Most importantly, it is the one I am confident that I will be good at! •...So, I am pretty confident that these aspects of my personality and experience will enable me to perform the job to the same high standard in your company! • This job would offer me a long-term exciting career and an international lifestyle with a difference. I would love to be part of your award winning team where I can combine my passion for customer service, love for travel, positive attitude and pride in work!
2.3 About Past Experience & Current Situation 这类典型问题包括: - What are your best qualities? - What attributes will you bring to this company? - What qualities are necessary for cabin crew? -…… 这个部分回答的关键是向招聘官证明:You understand what the role involves and what qualities are necessary to be a cabin crew. 除了高薪和环球旅行,你还非常清楚的知道一名合格空乘所应该具备的素质和工作的辛苦一面。最推荐也最好展开的回答方式为“Necessary Qualities + Your skills in relation to the position”。总的来说,这类问题回答的核心就是提炼出你的性格特质,并证明空乘这个职业就是为你量身打造的。大家可以用到的备选性格特质能力:
-Communication skills - Customer care skills - Interpersonal Ability - Leadership Skills - Ability as an Outstanding Team Player - Customer Focus - Ability to cope with difficult people and situations - Ability as a Good Problem Solver - Detail Oriented Ability - ……
Step 1. Necessary Qualities • Cabin crew play a vital role in giving a good impression of the airline as a whole. This means crew members need to have good +素质1 and +素质2 skills. • Because of the importance of safety, it is also important that they have the strength of character to + 需要具备的能力。
Step 2. Your Skills in Relation to the Position 正面: • I am a very welcoming and social individual who interacts well with others, and readily adapts to new people and environments. • I am dependable and reliable, recently +显示你可靠和可以信赖的事例。 • I enjoy working within a team… 反面(Your Weakness): • I recognize that my +你暂时还需要提升的能力,如:leadership ability is a potential area of improvement, which is why I am actively woking on developing this area further through +提升的途径或者渠道,如:a part time training course at my local college. • Right now, I see constant improvement in my capabilities when being face with+自己不足之处+tasks and I am confident that I will continue to learn and grow with experience.
关于OD的很多细节准备,一篇文章是远远不够的,需要各位参照自己的简历,并从中去发掘属于自己独一无二的“亮点”,再提炼出自己确实深有感触的理由、经历和故事,这样的表现和回答才会让你脱颖而出,真正打动考官!所以,如果没有充足的准备和反复的指导操练,你弱弱的回答和生搬硬套的理由永远不可能让你在两分钟内自信的向考官表达出内心对这份工作的渴望。淳爷给出来的例句和模版希望能够带大家在初期准备的时候一个好的提示和框架,很多人说我有想法、有思路但是用英文说不出来,那么我给的模版例句就需要你大量记忆了,还是老问题,面试是一个输出的过程,就好比我们小学中学,老师要求我们做大量美文摘抄一样,你不大量输入相关表达和句型,怎么能写出属于自己的东西?而最后修改和整理后的完整答案应该是融入了你自己的爱与经历,这样的阐述才会有血有肉。相对与这份工作即将带给你的种种......这一点点前期准备又算得上什么?
