Program the DVR: United Uniform Designer Cynthia Rowley Talks to CNN International
CNN International caught up with United uniform designer Cynthia Rowley at JFK at the end of February to chat about the project. During the interview, Cynthia emphasized the tremendous amount of feedback and assistance she has received from United employees and how much this has influenced her work to date.
"My No. 1 goal is to design uniforms that employees are proud to wear every day -- modern, fresh, functional and comfortable," Cynthia told CNN. She spent time on a p.s. aircraft where flight attendants demonstrated why it is important that their uniforms enable them to stretch to close a bin or bend down to get a beverage in the lower drawer of a cart while retaining their professional appearance.
CNN was also able to hear about the project directly from some of the future wearers of the new uniforms: Flight Attendants Carrollen Hill and Pamela Weber, Aviation Maintenance Technician Scott Righter, Captain Sal Crocker, First Officer Halli Mulei and Customer Service Representative Dawn Horvat. Watch for them when the interview airs on CNN International (all times Central Daylight Time): March 16 at 0430 and 1230, March 20 at 0430, 1300 and 1630, and March 21 at 0130, 1330 and 2300.
Tim Simonds, managing director-Customer Experience, joined Cynthia for the interview, and said, "We're pleased that employees are receiving more accurate uniform orders from the new vendor Cintas, and we're looking forward to the next phases of the project, which include a spring concept reveal and summer wear testing." |
