So, Since we all want to apply for an international airline. The most important thing is your CV; also known as a resume! And I noticed that most of the airline select their successful OD candidates by looking at their CV's.
Many people might wanna ask now, how do I make my resume more stand out? Here I will share some tips with every one.
1. Before you actually start writing a resume, determine your objective first. In our case, a cabin crew. You should clearly state what sort of a job you want, and know what kinds of skills and experiences are needed to do well in that job (do not state all the jobs that you've worked! ONLY put those which are related to the job you are applying for.) Even if you decide to change your job objective later, it's very important that you decide on a temporary objective for now.
2. After your objective is determined, you can structure the content of your resume around that objective.
Here are some tips you should keep in mind when you are writing a resume.
- Strive to be clear and concise;
- In the body of your resume, use bullet point with short sentences rather than lengthy paragraphs; (It should take no longer than 30 seconds for the interviewers to read your resume.)
- Highlight your strength; (this is basically telling the interviewers the reason why they should hire you rather than someone else)
- Match the needs of the hiring company;
- Be positive about yourself;
- Give plenty of space so the words are not "crowed"; (you need to show that you put in time into this resume)
- Get an outside opinion; (ask a friend to read your resume when you are done)
- Keep all the info under one page, as I said earlier, it should take no longer than 30 secs for them to read a resume! A lengthy resume will only lower your chance of getting hired.
3. Education section should always be before the work experience section. Try to be short and clear with your Education section (I know some universities have very long names, 特别是把中文大学名翻译成英文的时候,汉语拼音非常长!像我的大学简称就可以写成SFU,stands for Simon Fraser University, UBC or University of British Columbia)
