Chapter I
The lifestyle of a cabin crew member is undoubtedly one of the best careers we can aspire to and how to meet high standards of this special field?
Well I'd like to share some tips to those who wanna get-in this career and believe yourselves can soar in the sky, my post aims to foreign airlines recruitment so pls feel free to read English.
(i'm not a native, hence i couldn't ensure what's my expression all is up to grammar and welcome to correct at any moment)
Firstly, a glimpse at the beginning
It has been apparent that those who are attending cabin crew recruitments are still confused as to how to dress in a manner that airline interviewers consider appropriate and professional. Yeh, as we said, a good beginning means half the battle. When I attended the open day of Jal, I was still a senior in university, of course i hadn't any clear picture about attire. Then I chose a white shirt with black skirt, so simple that I even thought I couldn't catch the interviewers glimpse, but I was lucky to pass the first round.
Yeh, Believe me, for female applicants, nothing is acceptable other than a business suit or a dress with a jacket. I have seen ladies in chenille sweaters of course it's great look if you are going to the shopping mall; as for sleeveless and fashion styles, are not acceptable attire for the flight attendant interview as well.
A black closed high-heel about 3 to 5mm is a good choice, and don't forget take a silk stockings in case of an emergency.
Grooming, it's no doubt of utmost importance, however impeccably you are dressed; if your grooming is careless, you won't get a second look. Make-up must be in colors becoming to the complexion, if you have significant skin problems or your teeth are in need of repair, pls prepare in advance.
Red nails or french manicure will bring contribution to your interview, keep jewelry to a minimum, naturally a ring is acceptive. No heavy perfumes, this's my advice. As for me, nothing goes wrong in adjusting your personal appearance into two words - NEAT & PROFESSIONAL. Yeh, first impression lasts!
Small Tips:
1) Got a hair cut the day before the recruitment date if needs
2) Prepare the suit. Light colors suit gives a light impression to the dresser and dark one releases mature impression instead. If you apply European, USA or the Middle East airlines, i suggest ur choice concerntrated in dark as they always enjoy applicants with working experience and matural enough to adapt to long-haul flight and have ability to take care of themselves in base. But if you apply Asian airlines, of course they enjoy applicants pretty, young and bright, in this case light colors may be better than dark for those who aren't young enough.
3) Visit a dentist and clean the teeth on the day before the selection date. It always feels good to smile, when you knew that you have white & clean teeth.
Chapter II
Different airlines have different standards, I'd like to talk about some recruitment opinions about Emirates (EK), Singapore Airlines (SQ) and Jal, as I ever attend the open day of Emirates and Jal and accompany with my best friends attend singapore airlines, I spent more than a couple of weeks to prepare SQ interview and I'm very happy she got the offer finally.
