地震发生后，电视台开始全程不间断地报道救援情况，让人民了解救援进程以及受灾程度。这种做法在国际上其实不多的。另外地震发生后温总理以及救援人员很快就到位，对这场特大灾难的反应机制很快，也受到外媒的赞扬。

地震后－联想到中国的计划生育问题。父母们需要面对是失去了他们唯一的孩子，从1979年以后由于计划生育的实施，中国少出生了4千万人口。一些富有的家庭可以忽视这项国策，但是在经济相对差些的农村，比如这次重灾区汶川，他们怎么办。
